Dad charged after allegedly throwing boiling water on boy A Kingston man accused of throwing two cups of hot water on his son because he didn't go to school, was granted $50,000 bail in The Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday. The 42-year-old man is charged with cruelty to child and assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. He returns to court on July 9. Allegations are that on June 5, the boy was in the shower, when he was approached by his father and asked why he didn't go to school. The court heard that the boy replied that he opted to stay home because he had some studies to do. It is alleged that the accused threw the hot water on the 14-year-old, while he was in the shower. The matter was reported to the police after the complainant showed up for school with burns all over his body. The father was subsequently arrested.
