FREAKY DREAM LEADS TO DEATH

SHELDON WILLIAMS, Staff Reporter

One month after a man was chopped to death in Gayle, St Mary, as he slept, rumours are rife that he was killed because the accused allegedly dreamt that he was being buggered by the now deceased.

Dead is 39-year-old Garth 'Puss Eye' Simpson while Conroy Miller, 51, of Mile Gully district has been charged with murder.

As residents try to determine what led to the killing, there has been chatter swirling about in the district that suggests the murder emanated from a freaky dream.

"Mi hear seh that the man dream seh the other man a mek love to him and so him jump out a him sleep and go chop him up," a resident said, who requested anonymity.

Another resident admitted to hearing the same rumour. "Mi hear seh man a dream seh the other man have him hand inna him pants and so him go call him and chop him up."

THE STAR was unable to make contact with the investigating officer in the matter as we were told he was absent at the time of our enquiry.

According to police reports, about 4:30 a.m. on May 10, the complainant and the accused, who are relatives, were at home.

The matriarch of the house left them watching television butwas awakened by strange noises.

It is reported that a relative awoke and saw Simpson and Miller in a tussle when a machete was used to fatally chop Simpson.

Miller is scheduled to appear before the Port Maria Resident Magistrate's Court on July 1.
