MARC STAMP, STAR Writer Nineteen-year-old Norwich City striker Jamar Loza is eagerly awaiting his chance to represent the Jamaica national senior men's football team, especially during the ongoing CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying final round. Loza, who was a regular for Norwich in the Under-21 league last season, however, is yet to break into his club's first team in the English Premier League. However, he has high hopes of playing for his country and helping in the quest for a World Cup spot in Brazil next year. lifelong ambition "I am really excited to play for the country where I was born. That's my lifelong ambition," Loza told STAR Sports after a press conference at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), where he was in attendance on Thursday afternoon. "England has approached me and stuff, but I really want to play for Jamaica because that's where I was born," Loza said. According to Loza, his family are in full support of him representing the Reggae Boyz. "My family want me to play for Jamaica. They are in full support," Loza added. The young striker was accompanied by his father Barrington Loza to the JFF. "I am here on vacation from the US where I reside, and he came down from England, so I thought that I would introduce him to the Reggae Boyz family," the senior Loza explained. "I want him to have some international caps and help Jamaica go to the World Cup," he added. |
