portmore cashier charged with larceny A Portmore cashier who reportedly stole money from his employer under the pretence that he was preparing refund cheques for customers, is to be sentenced in The Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on June 25. Jean-Mark Roache from Greater Portmore is charged with larceny as a servant. A probation report was requested by Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey. According to police reports, Roache, who is employed to The National Health Fund as a cashier, had more money than several other cashiers on several occasions and explained that it was money to be refunded to customers. Subsequently, an auditor was hired to make checks and it was discovered that, between January and April of this year, a total of $129,097.63 was taken by the defendant. |
