Russell Brand isn't interested in casual sex anymore.

The 38-year-old former sex addict - who split from Katy Perry December 2011 after 14 months of marriage and divorced her in 2012 - revealed he now tries to be more "discerning" about who he sleeps with.

He told Absolute Radio's Christian O'Connell breakfast show: "I'm calming down a bit. I'm a bit less likely to just relentlessly hurl myself into a troth full of parts, you know, sex parts. Now I try and be a bit more discerning about what goes on."

Russell is planning to perform in women's prisons on his latest stand-up tour and joked he would only attend prisons with female inmates in case he gets locked up.

He joked: "Yeah, women's prisons. I have thought it through! Just in case, for a worst-case scenario, where someone goes, 'right, you can't have that. just lock him up now. we won't even have a trial.' I'll go, 'all right, Beryl, I'll be in with you, love'. I'll be running that joint in a fortnight. Seen what people will do for a packet of fags. god knows what they will put out for what I'm going to offer."
