Sixth Revelation lead singer Papa D does solo project

Reggae singer Anthony Johnson, better known as Papa D, lead singer and guitarist of the Germany-based reggae group Sixth Revelation, is currently working on his first solo album.

The album, which is titled Guide Me, will feature 16 songs, all written and composed by him.

"About two years ago, I decided to work on a solo project. This project is my first solo project. Prior to this, all my recordings and performances were done with my group the Sixth Revelation. It's a whole new experience for me, but so far it has been good," he said.

Although several tracks on the album were recorded and produced in Germany, the bulk of the work is being done at the Highlight recording Studio in Savanna-la-Mar under the guidance of studio engineer-musician Paul 'Sly' Francis.

"Some of the tracks for the album were done in Germany, but most of the songs were produced locally. It's good to have a nice blend of sounds and musical styles, so that's why I'm doing it this way," said the artiste.

Guide Me is slated to be released in December, however, Papa D has already released two singles off the album - 23rd Psalms and A girl Like You.

"It's going to take a little time for the album to be completed and released, but in the meantime, the fans can listen to two singles off the album - 23rd Psalms and A Girl Like You. These songs are already released and are getting some very strong airplay on stations such as IRIE FM and HITZ 92 FM.

"I've also released the music video for 23rd Psalms. It's getting very good support. In a few weeks I'm going to release the video for A Girl Like You.

Papa D returned to Germany last week to kick off the promotions for the album with a series of performances across Europe and the United Kingdom.
