World leader Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the Olympic 100m champion, will make her return from a hamstring injury when she faces countrywoman Veronica Campbell-Brown in today's Prefontaine Classic Diamond League meet, at the historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene.

Jamaica's hottest 400m prospect, Stephenie McPherson, the fourth-fastest women over the distance this year, with a mark of 50.43, will also be severely tested in what will be her Diamond League debut against a deep field that includes the current world and Olympic champions.

Fraser-Pryce, who has gone 10.93 seconds so far this year, had to skip the 150m clash against Allyson Felix at the BT Great City Games after complaining of pain in her hamstring following her 100m win at the Shanghai Diamond League on May 19.

Despite having the edge in the 100m and looking particularly ominous this season, she will, however, need to be close to her best if she is going to beat a well-tuned Campbell-Brown, who comes in as the fifth-fastest this season with 11.01 under her belt already.

The two have met on 13 occasions over 100m, with the diminutive Fraser-Pryce holding the advantage, finishing ahead of the accomplished Campbell-Brown eight times. In fact, since finishing behind Fraser-Pryce at the 2008 national trials, Campbell-Brown has only beaten her rival three times over their 10 subsequent meetings.

However, this has not been a great hunting ground for the two-time Olympic 100m champion and, with question marks over the health, this seems like the best chance anyone will have against her in the event this season.

In her last appearance at the Prefontaine Classic, Fraser-Pryce finished fourth in 10.95 in what was her first race back from suspension for usage of the non-performance enhancing oxycodone substance.

The pair will face competition from fellow Jamaican Kerron Stewart, the 2008 Olympic semi-finalist, Allyson Felix, and the fast-starting Murielle Ahoure.

World champion Amantle Montsho seems to have shaken off the disappointments of 2012 and looks to be in a no-nonsense mood this year, leading the world as the only woman to dip below 50 seconds with a 49.88 mark.

She will have the Jamaican trio of Novlene Williams-Mills, Shericka Williams and the impressive McPherson, who is said to be in good spirits ahead of today's meet.

Olympic champion Richards-Ross, now recovered from a toe injury that kept her sidelined for several weeks, is also expected to feature along with Christine Ohuruogu, Francena McCorory and DeeDee Trotter, in the best 400m field pulled together so far this season.
