Evangelist Yvette Blake is the mother of Gregory Park and every child is met with a hug and a warm welcome.

It was no surprise then that on Children's Day, May 24, Evangelist Blake, the founder of the Children of Hope Ministries, held a treat for more than 200 children at Cottage Drive in Gregory Park.

Evangelist Blake spoke passionately about the children under her care. "Listen to me, children, they are future leaders. I see pastors, lawyers, doctors, bus drivers and conductors here," She said of the children as they enjoyed the treat. "I am doing volunteer work for the sake of the children. I will fight for them. I walk the community and take what the Devil has stolen." The community really rallied around Blake and this made her treat very successful. Children were given food, toys and clothing, among other things.

Evangelist Blake added: "I really need the help and whatever assistance I get I will appreciate it."

Member of Parliament for East Central St Catherine, Arnaldo Brown, in whose constituency the community falls, gave the initiative his blessings.
