|
Persons reportedly swindled out of monies for car payments by alleged conman Horace Haughton will have to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magis-trate's Court next month to hear if they will be refunded. Haughton, who also goes by the names: 'Omer Haughton,' 'Dean Haughton' and 'Dr Garcia Enriques Perez', was brought before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday to answer to charges of obtaining money by false pretence. According to Haughton's attorney, the liquidation of Haughton's assets is still ongoing. He is to return to court on June 25, to provide Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey with an update. Haughton is accused of fleecing more than $9 million from individuals under the pretence that he could provide vehicles for them on hire purchase if they provided an upfront processing fee of $70,000. |
