FORMER Manchester High half-miler Natoya Goule continued her impressive form for Louisiana State University on the weekend at the South East Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Walton Stadium in Columbia, Missouri.

Goule led a trio of Jamaican wins at the meet with Kemoy Campbell and Damar Forbes also claiming victories.

The wiry Goule, who is creating waves in her first year at her new school, continued her dominance in the 800 metres, producing her second-best career time of 2:01.12 to take the event and qualify easily for next week's East Preliminary meet, where the top collegiate athletes will vie for places to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in early June.

Although failing to match her career best of 2:00.76 done at Baton Rouge in early April, Goule still has the second and third-best times in the world this year in the event, as only the American, Brenda Martinez (1:59.59) has gone faster than her. Of note, Goule's time came 50 minutes after competing in the women's 1500m final, where she clocked 4:20.35 for eighth place.

Campbell, the former Bellefield High middle-distance star, has also continued his good form for the University of Arkansas, as he stopped the clock at 13:57.17 to capture the men's 5000 metres ahead of Henry Lelel (13:56.02) of Texas A&M University and Jimmy Clarke (13:58.24) of Florida.

Forbes destroyed the field to take the men's long jump with 8.34 metres.

Former Kingston College jumper Tarik Batchelor finished third for the University of Arkansas in the event with a leap of 7.83 metres.

Jamaican quarter-milers continue to show improvement this season as Akeem Gauntlett became the fastest Jamaican in the 400 metres this season, as he clocked 45.53 seconds for the University of Arkansas to finish second in the men's 400m.

Nikita Tracey continued her fine improvement this season in the 400m hurdles. Picking up third in the event in 56.69 seconds.
