Tastee Audition number two unfolds May 18

The second audition in the 2013 Tastee Talent Trail season is set to unfold this Saturday at the car park of the Tastee head office in Cross Roads.

This follows the first audition held in March and the subsequent road show, which took place in Portmore on April 27. The usual solid turnout is anticipated.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., and ends at 2:30 p.m. It is free to all persons 16 years and older.

Hopefuls will attend a pre-judging where judges Basil Walters and Courtney Sergeant will assess their talent before sending them over to the final judging tent to face judges Michael 'Ibo' Cooper, Queen Ifrica, and Kerry Ann Lawrence.

Successful contestants will receive Lifeline Cards, which will allow them to partake in the road show round set for Saturday, June 15, at the Turtle River Park, Ocho Rios.

As is the norm, the contest - sponsored by Tastee, Pepsi, T-Shirt Express, Sparkles, and Kosmo Tours - is open to the full gamut of entertainment talent: singers, dancers, dub poets, deejays, singjays, instrumentalists, and magicians.

Contestants who are vying for the $1 million first prize, $500,000 second prize, and $150,000 third prize, as well as a slice of stardom, will be groomed extensively once they have passed the road show test.

Fifteen persons were selected from the first audition on March 23. They made their way to the Portmore road show where they performed. following their performance, seven were eliminated, leaving eight to move on to the next round.

Contestants are required to sing a capella at the auditions and are not restricted to original songs, however, medleys are not allowed. Dancers should have a dvd of their dance and the routine should not exceed three minutes. Other auditions for this year will be held on Saturday, July 6, with the final audition on Saturday, August 24.

The semi-finals will unfold on Thursday, November 21, at the Tastee car park head office, Cross Roads, with the grand finals set for Thursday, December 12, at the same venue.
