A man was shot and killed by the police yesterday morning along Matthews Lane in downtown Kingston.

The police say that the incident occurred about 9:30 and that the man, 'Oney', is allegedly a suspect in the shooting of four persons in Luke Lane in Kingston in the wee hours of yesterday morning.

The man, believed to be of a West Street address, was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A home-made handgun with one live 9mm round was also allegedly recovered by the police.

The police and a team from INDECOM are carrying out investigations.
