HBO, Lime partner for St Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival

HBO Latin America and LIME, in partnership for more than 15 years, teamed up to sponsor this year's St Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, April 30 to May 12.

Now in its 22nd year, the 13-day festival features world-renowned musicians, artistes and vendors, and is celebrated as one of the premier jazz festivals in the Caribbean.

"We are happy to be sharing in this experience with our long-time partner, LIME, to support cultural events that matter to our subscribers in the St Lucian community," said Javier Figueras, corporate vice-president of affiliate sales for HBO-Latin America.

"We are also committed to bringing the best content to our subscribers in all of the Caribbean, including several music specials such as the premiere of the original documentary Beyonce: Life is But a Dream on May 11."

Special prizes

This year, both companies are co-sponsoring four events, free and open to the public, which will give visitors the opportunity to learn more about HBO and LIME and win some special prizes while enjoying great music. The events are:

Fond D'or Jazz, headlined by the French band Kassav

JQ Mall Jazzy Rhythms, featuring Headphunk, Ronald 'Boo' Hinkson and Friends

Tea Time Jazz, a late afternoon concert with local talent and other Caribbean artistes

Jazz on the Square, a week-long concert series including evening and lunchtime concerts.

"We are very excited to, once again, partner with HBO on such a fabulous event," said Dianne Bissoon, VP of television and entertainment for LIME.

"It's always special when we can highlight our homegrown Caribbean talent with international luminaries at such a high-profile event, and even better when we can share the stage with our customers and partners."
