Short Shorts vs Short Skirts at May Daze tonight The rain may have postponed the first party in the May Daze series last week, but anticipation is still at fever pitch, as one of Kingston's hottest party series officially opens its gates tonight to kick-start an exciting month of fun, frolic and fantasy. "We have not taken our foot off the gas, in fact, we are just starting in a higher gear, meaning higher intensity and putting much more in place to offer to our patrons" says promoter Dwayne Harris. Due to the inclement weather, the promoters had to postpone the opening party last Friday night, entitled 'Black Friday'. They did, however, promise that this will not hinder the series as the party will continue into June. "We are definitely going into June, so consider Friday, June 7 as the new Friday, May 38" Harris says. Also, the promoters have guaranteed that all tickets that were purchased for last Friday's event will still be valid tonight. One of the most anticipated parties in the series each year is the ladies night, which is usually the second Friday in the series. This event is geared towards getting ladies out in skimpy, sexy attire and since last year's staging there has been a battle of women who prefer shorts or skirts. "In 2011, without even knowing there was this huge competition on our Facebook and Twitter pages and at the party as to which is sexier, shorts or skirts, so we just took it and ran with it. It seems to have grabbed the attention of everybody, so since then it has been #TeamShortShorts vs #TeamShortSkirts and many cat fights have started over this very battle, which is fun for the party and especially all the men in attendance," Harris says. The event promises to be high energy and strictly designed specifically for the ladies, that is, music, drink specials and a lot more surprises for all females in attendance. As usual, ladies in shorts or skirts are free before 11 p.m., and drink specials will be available all night courtesy of Finlandia Vodka. A bar, restaurant and lounge will still be providing premium cocktails and a premium lounge area for patrons along with Rough Rider condoms, who have promised to add even more high energy to the event with their Rough Rider girls.
