Blak Diamon storms airwaves

An artiste of extraordinary talent, Shawn Myrie, aka Blak Diamon, has collaborated, with Shawn Storm on a new summer anthem titled Summer in Jamaica, produced by his brother, and one of dancehall's most lauded producers, Anju Blaxxx.

Blak Diamon has proven that he is indeed a force to be reckoned with. The versatile artiste proved just that when he held the number-one spot for three consecutive weeks on MTV's Tempo channel for his song Can't Style Mi/Boasy Suh.

Rated by industry insiders as a talented and creative recording artiste, Blak Diamon holds firmly to the belief that he has the ability to touch the lives of his fans through his music.

Gain momentum

Nominated in 2012 at the Youth View Awards for Hottest Summer Song - 2012 with Live We Life featuring Tommy Lee Sparta (produced by TJ Records), Blak Diamon has continued to steadily gain momentum on the airwaves with his latest tracks, Gimmi The Paper on the Jupiter rhythm, We Nuh Play on the C4 rhythm, Life Too Sweet, and In These Streets, all of which have been enjoying premium rotation and rapidly becoming a staple on the playlist of many radio disc jockeys locally and internationally.

The increased attention has also garnered the artiste a one-year sponsorship from Fronto King, a tobacco company based in Boston, USA, where Blak Diamon was made brand ambassador for the Boston tobacco brand.

"I recently returned from the US where I promoted my EP Life Too Sweet, which you can also get on iTunes," quipped Blak Diamon.

After an exceptional response to his stint in the US, the dancehall artiste began sweating up a storm in studio, releasing a number of songs including The Boss produced by UIM, for which a viral video for his single was shot and released online.

Tanya Thelwell, Blak Diamon's manager, further shared, "Blak Diamon is not just another dancehall artiste, he helps youths from his community of Cockburn Pen where he gives them a chance to display their talent. He also hosts a party dubbed 'Diamon Fridays' that is held every Friday at Robin Road, off Woodpecker Drive, and everyone is welcome."

Officially bursting on to the music scene in 2000 with Forget Da World, Blak Diamon has recorded over 50 songs and collaborated with remarkable artistes in the industry like Gyptian, Anju Blaxxx (his brother), Tommy Lee Sparta, Leftside, Bugle, Masicka, Konshens, Voicemail and Nicky B, and international artistes Young Berg and Jadakiss, among others.

The Blak Diamon summer tour is slated to kick off in the United States and will continue through places such as Canada and Europe.
