A meeting has been scheduled between parents and the board of the McCook's Primary School in St Catherine.

This, after parents protested outside the school gate yesterday against a stance taken by the principal.

The protesters are calling for the removal of the principal whom they claim is not operating to their expectations. Classes were disrupted during the demonstration as the gate was padlocked.

It was revealed that the disquiet is as a result of disagreements with staff members and the school's head.

A number of the protesters said they are angry as they cannot vend at the school gate and whenever they want water they are not allowed to get it on the school compound. It was also revealed that they are locked out of the school and have to be allowed inside.

Fire personnel eventually removed the padlock from the gate.

Attempts to get a response from school officials yesterday proved futile.
