Ryan Thomas, 18, from St Elizabeth, will return to the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate Court on murder charges after his case was set for a preliminary enquiry on May 30.

It is alleged that on the night of December 31, 2012, Thomas saw a man in front of the KFC restaurant in Santa Cruz whom he stabbed and ran away.

Reports are that the man's brother chased Thomas who he found hiding behind the building.

The man succumbed to his injuries and Thomas was subsequently charged with murder.
