A teenage girl who was reported missing on Wednesday was on Monday found dead in a cane field in Trelawny.

She has been identified as 16-year-old Abigail Robb.

Robb of Refuge district in Duncans in the parish was reported missing on April 24.

According to reports from the police, about 4:30 p.m, the teenager's body was found in a cane field about 400 metres away from the Hyde Hall main road in the parish.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who can assist them to contact the Duncans police at 954-2433, Crime Stop at 311, the police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

Investigations continue.
