Romain Virgo, Konshens team up for new single

After releasing his first dancehall single a few weeks ago, artiste Romain Virgo is now delving further into the genre with a collaborative effort with one of dancehall's top deejays - Konshens.

Virgo confirmed to THE STAR that he and Konshens have always shared a musical bond.

"The song Who Feels It Knows It is Konshens' favourite song. Konshens a mi friend. He called and said he had an 'old-school' dancehall rhythm and that's basically how this song came about. Konshens always say him want me and him fi collab so I guess now was the right time," Virgo told THE STAR.

The song, titled Dem Nuh Worry We, has already been gaining momentum in Europe. Virgo confirmed that European sound system selectors are already hailing the song as a summer hit.

"Mi nuh do negative music. The song have an old-school vibe so that's the route we took with the video, which will be out soon also. It's definitely something different. Mi nuh try fi voice hit song, mi just try make good music," Virgo said.

Virgo also recently released another dancehall song and promises more to come.

"I've always enjoyed doing dancehall music. Shane Brown is the first producer to make me do a dancehall song and mi have whole heap a other dancehall songs to drop. Mi nah say mi a go take up dancehall, but so far I've done a few and people seem to like it. From it can uplift the people, then I will do it," he said.

Virgo is also set to release other collaborative efforts with Tarrus Riley and Marcia Griffiths. Videos for his other singles, including Scary Face, Everlasting Love and Beat You Down, are also scheduled to be released soon.

In the meantime, Virgo's debut mixtape titled Go Harder 2013 and Beyond, mixed by DJ Wayne, will soon be released and will feature exclusive new songs as well as current hit singles.

Virgo is also slated to tour Europe and the Middle East in upcoming months.
