Dear Pastor, I hope this letter will find you in good health. Continue to keep up the good work you are doing. I am a young man and married for a year. During the period of my engagement, I went on a dating site where I met this woman who is older than I am. I knew getting in with this woman would be a hard task but, due to persistence, it paid off. I went in her life under false pretense. To be honest, I didn't know I would feel so attached to her, even though I am married. I really don't want to lose this woman but, because of my next life, it sometimes put her in depression and I feel bad about it. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place because I am married and love my wife I also love this other woman very much too. Sometimes I have to wonder if it is really possible, loving both persons at once, as the way I feel about both of them is very strong. As a result of this, I came off all dating sites because I don't wish to hurt anyone else and these women complete me. She knows about my wife but my wife doesn't know anything about her or have the slightest idea of my actions. I know she is hurting and, in her mind, playing second fiddle is so hard on her. I don't know what to do so I am asking for you fatherly advice. I.D. Dear I.D., Stop fooling yourself. While you were engaged to be married, you felt you wanted another woman in your life, and that is why you went on a dating site. You are a trickster. You lied. You did not give the correct information about yourself and got a woman to believe you were for real. You convinced her you were a good man. The truth is, you are a deceiver. You have conned this woman and now you are talking about being complete, having two women in your life. You are a wicked man. You are pretending you do not know what to do in the situation that you have created for yourself. You know what to do. If you are honest with yourself, you would do it. Tell the woman you cannot go any further with this relationship. Ask her to forgive you for deceiving her. If you can't do that as a man, it means you want to continue fooling this woman, giving her the impression there is hope for you to live as husband and wife. I have no sympathy for you because you lied on the site and gave the impression you were free and single. If you had a daughter, you wouldn't want any man to lie to her, just to get under her skirt. I pray for this woman and also your wife. Just remember, sir, that when a man does good, the good follows him. Whenever he does bad, the bad will always choke him until he abandons his bad ways and begin to do what is right. I hope you will not delay. End the relationship with this woman now and stick to your wife. Pastor |
