The investigators have laid charges against the Guardsman contractor and another man in connection with last weekend's multimillion dollar cocaine bust in St James. Yesterday, the police charged Owen Glaze, 53, and Andrew Brown, 29. THE STAR understands a third man, also nabbed in the incident, remains in custody while the cops determine his fate. All three men were arrested on Saturday when members of the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Task Force (MOCA) in conjunction with police personnel from the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division, and the military, intercepted a Guardsman Security service vehicle, along the Mount Carey main road in the parish. Cocaine weighing a total of 66 kilograms, with a street value of $264 million was unearthed. A nine-millimetre handgun containing 13 rounds was also seized. Glaze and Brown are both booked to appear before the Montego Bay Criminal Court on May 2. Meanwhile, Guardsman in a statement, says it is cooperating fully with the police after one of its contractors was arrested on Saturday when lawmen conducted a search of one of its vehicles and seized a large quantity of cocaine in St James. |
