A couple was granted $50,000 bail each when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's court yesterday after ammunition was reportedly found at their home. Charged with illegal possession of ammunition is André Depass and Nakeita Rhule. The court was told that checks by the police at premises where the two reside, turned up three bullets, two of which were live rounds and the other a spent shell. They were found inside a safe in the house. The attorney representing the two, however, told the court that the rounds belonged to Depass' father who was once a licensed firearm holder. The attorney told Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey that when the father turned over his firearm he may have mistakenly left the rounds under a carpet in the safe. The investigating officer countered telling the court that was not the case as the bullets were not found under any carpet. Both were granted bail in their own surety, and are to return to court on May 31 for mentioning. |
