Residents of Ensom City in St Catherine have expressed concern about the number of robberies taking place in the community.

The WEEKEND Star was informed that the most daring and recent incident took place on Monday when a senior citizen was robbed while at home. Reports are that two men entered and robbed the elderly woman of her chain and ring.

When neighbours attempted to assist, one of the men placed his gun at the woman's head.

They then escaped in a waiting motor car.

This incident occurred following the assault and robbery of another resident by gunmen while he walked to get transportation.

On one occasion the hoodlums grabbed an elderly woman, robbed her jewellery and ripped her clothes off.

"Yes, even clothes them taking through window, the place is getting infested with these criminals," a resident said.

Meanwhile, the Spanish Town police said that attention is being given to the residents' complaints.
