Wife's lover beats husband
Andre Williams, STAR Writer

An elderly man is today giving thanks for life after he claims that he was ambushed, pepper sprayed, beaten and bitten by the much younger boyfriend of his estranged wife, THE WEEKEND STAR has learnt.

Our news team understands that this near death experience, according to the 55-year-old, has caused him to bring the matter to the public in the event that he does not make a full recovery as he is suffering immense pain.

THE WEEKEND STAR was told by the man that he was attacked on Tuesday evening after arriving at home with his 12-year-old son from school.

He said, "Mi reach home with mi son from school, and mi send him around to his mother section and then me go to my part of the house. The court order us in November to reside at the same property, in different sections. As I open my door, I was ambushed with pepper spray and I had to defend myself even though my eyes were burning."

The 55-year-old man said he had been told by his son that his wife's boyfriend, who was recently released from custody, was staying inside her section of the house but she had denied him being there.

He said before the man had been taken into custody, he had taken control of a car that was owned by him and his wife. He said that since the boyfriend's release from custody, he and the woman had made several advances to get the car from him.

"Mek mi tell yuh wah a happen, a few weeks ago him carry her up to Stony Hill to kill her and try push her over a precipice ... a dat she tell me, and she had to scream out and police come and lock him up for it. Him spend two weeks in jail and when she go court last Friday she talk a different thing and him get bail and come back now fi di car but in order fi him get it back him affi get rid of me," the 55-year-old man said.

THE WEEKEND STAR gathered that the boyfriend who is in his 30s, also received multiple chops during the attack and was hospitalised as well.

"When him spray me mi draw fi mi cutlass and him draw fi a stone and a di two a we at each other. Mi nuh let him go til the police come, caw me want dem fi see dat him come over my section, all when him a bite off mi ears mi still nuh let him go," the older man said.

Our news team was told that the 12-year-old boy alerted the neighbours who then contacted the police and they came to the location and transported both men to the hospital.

THE WEEKEND STAR was told by the husband that he has received several stitches and that he was further referred to undertake an MRI at the Kingston Public Hospital.

Efforts to contact the estranged wife proved futile as our news team got her voicemail recording when contacted.

No charges have been laid as yet and the older man claims he is seeking a lawyer to take the matter further.

When our news team contacted the Spanish Town police, a senior police officer, who declined to give his name, confirmed the incident and stated, "My understanding is that the parties were told to seek medical attention before returning to the station for an official report. At that point the law will take its course."
