I am a young man and I am married to a woman from the UK for a year and five months. We got married in Jamaica and I am seeking a divorce now, but I have no idea how to go about it and how long it would take.

You have not given any reason why you want to divorce your wife after such short period of marriage. What is the problem, sir? Is she not up to your satisfaction? Is the long distance affecting the relationship? Was this marriage for real? Who did this marriage?

Sometimes people who live abroad come to Jamaica and get married for different reasons. That is why I am asking these questions. Sometimes when they get married and things don't go right and they return to their homelands, they change their numbers and their so-called husbands and wives can't contact them.

You need to find an immigration lawyer and explain your situation to him/her. I wish you well.
