A 23-year-old man who was allegedly held with 400lb of ganja will have to wait until Friday to know if he would be granted bail.

Odain Sangster, 23, of a Mountainside address, is charged with possession of, dealing in, and conspiracy to export 400 pounds (181.81kilograms) of ganja, on Wednesday.

On April 19, the St Elizabeth marine police who were conducting an operation in the Brown Berry district, reportedly approached several men preparing ganja to be exported.

The men fled in several directions. The police gave chase and Sangster was captured. Sangster was taken into custody and subsequently charged.

Sangster will appear in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday for a ruling to be made on his bail application.
