As I stood outside mi yaad, enjoying the stillness of the moment, in this moment, this minute, this time, I felt as if I could conquer anything! I simply felt free! Then it dawned on me ... what exactly is freedom and are we really free?!

Jailed by poverty

Jailed by violence

Jailed by tax

Jailed by poor health care

Jailed by miseducation

Jailed by jail!

We are physically jailed by so many things in life, so how can we truly call ourselves free?!

As wi try save ... wi bruk! As we buy ... smadi tief it!

If wi own it ... smadi tax it! If wi borrow ... wi haffi pay back triple!

And if wi lend it ... dog nyam yu suppa!

What is this freedom we speak of?!

Life is truly a business and while we exist in it, at some point, there's always someone making a decision about how we should live it! With this said, how are we truly free?!

Freedom perceived by many, is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restrain. However, you and I both know that the right to act and speak comes with several stated and hidden consequences which then contradict the true definition of what freedom should be!

So what is freedom to me? FREEDUMB created by those in power is the grand false impression that we are free! Its 'dumbing' us down to believe we are free by distracting us from the truth of our jailed realities!

A people who live freely, but freely with consequence aren't in fact free! As we continue

living in this advanced level of a plantation, where the shackles are invisible, yet our movements are still controlled, one could consider this reality and this article depressing! BUT! One's awareness of how life is and can be, makes freedom 'mentally' achievable!

Awareness of self, others and environment creates a mental freedom of how to uplift ourselves above the situations presented to us, as the quality of life is determined by the quality of our choices and thoughts!

FREEDOM is in the MIND of the beholder, as at the end of the day, the only thing that separates us is the freedom of our minds!
