Chuck Fenda makes triumphant return to the US

Chuck Fenda

Reggae artiste Chuck Fenda is celebrating a triumphant return to the United States after he delivered a strong performance at Club amazura over the weekend.

After being nabbed by Canadian immigration in November of last year in a case of mistaken identity, the artiste says he had a phobia for travelling; however, his huge reception in the US will suffice.

Chuck Fenda, who was billed to perform alongside contemporary chart-riding artistes' I-Octane and Konshens, says he was impressed by the appreciation of his work.

"I went there with a clean vision and a ton load of musical fire, and I just delivered it to the patrons and they loved it. Reggae music lives and, based on the good feedback, I can safely say that my work is reaching the right places," he said.

Chuck Fenda spent his formative years in the US, and only returned to Jamaica to develop his musical career. He says performing at Club Amazura was like returning home.

"A America mi grow up enuh, suh a mi yard dat to. So it was like a homecoming performance. I was kinda nervous because of some problems with immigration in Canada last year but that iron out now. Once I got into my element, I was in a good frame of mind and I just set out to carry out my mission and I feel pleased to have done so well, especially with the new songs like Warning," he said.

According to the artiste, he received encores for singles like Gash Dem and It Hard. Chuck Fenda recently, performed at Gary G's Kite Festival where he also delivered a strong set.

Chuck Fenda also launched his charity recently called The Poor People Defender Foundation, and is looking to execute a series of street-feeding initiatives in the Corporate Area.

Other artistes who performed at Club Amazura last weekend include I-Octane, Macka Diamond, Erupt, Olivia formerly of 50 Cent's G-unit, Spragga Benz, Lisa Hyper and Laza Morgan.
