The Portmore police in St Catherine seized two firearms and took two persons into custody in separate incidents yesterday.

Reports are that the first weapon was seized about 9:15 a.m. when a team of officers was conducting an operation on Salmon Way, Braeton in the parish. During a search of the premises, a Taurus 9mm pistol and a magazine containing six 9mm rounds were seized. A teenage

boy was taken into custody in connection with the find.

The second firearm, A 9mm pistol with serial number erased, was seized about 3:30 p.m. during an operation at the Pigeon Shoot Fishing Village. One man was arrested in connection with this seizure.

The identities of the persons in custody are being withheld pending further investigations.
