KODDY DROPS 'HUSTLA' VIDEO

You may have seen her new 'Hustla' video on TV recently or heard the song onthe radio, with the vivacious Koddy singing over an up tempo-hip hop-dancehall beat, but there is more to this ultra-talented female artiste than meets the eye.

Rebel Soulz recording artiste, Koddy is becoming very well known inJamaica as a reggae superstar singer and deejay, emerging from Japan,one of the largest music markets in world, representing more than a quarterof the world's total sales of recorded music.

"She made history by being one of the first female Japanese reggaeartistes to tour not only Japan, but the US and Jamaica in one tour," RichardMason, head of Rebel Soulz, said.

Koddy's career began in her hometown, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1999 where shestarted performing at local nightclubs and was immediately lovedfor her vibrant stage presence and loving interaction with the masses.

In 2005 she moved to Tokyo where her stage craft, repertoireand total artiste development bloomed over the years, ultimately makingher a major figure in reggae music.

In 2010, Koddy joined the Rebel Soulz camp and has since performed allover the world and on major shows such as GT Taylor's Christmas Extravaganza in Jamaica, where she made herself and hercountry proud, mesmerising the audience with a breath-takingperformance.

"She is proof that reggae music is a global force.Koddy's onstagepresence is very strong. Whenever she performs, she has the fans ontheir toes the moment she steps on stage. This Japanese artiste issomeone the Jamaican public yearned for and they haven't hesitated toshow their love for her,"Mason said.

Koddy first gained recognition with her top-selling A-Dako-Da singleon the compilation album Infinity 16 vol. 4, produced by Japaneseproducer, Tela-C.She followed up that with the 2010 record, DanceFloor on the compilation album Street Ryders vol. 1, produced byJapanese producer, Hase-T, and then stepped up her game yet again withthe 2011 record Beautiful Day, featuring Major Label's Japanese artistMoomin. This single was produced by Yossim & Koddy. Koddy was the executive producer of the project.

Very similar to Hustla, Koddy's previous release, I Love You, on Rebel Soulz' 'Soul Food' rhythm, was very well received in Jamaica, evident in the major airplay from the most popular radio and television stations in the island.

"Koddy's music resonates with conscious, sincere energy. She maintains a passion for support of the various less-fortunate communities throughout Jamaica, and the world over, and is driven to bring about change, starting with self," Mason said.

"The world is falling in love with Koddy.I feel that she can carry the message of love and unity, in reggae, to the world."
