Labourer facing bribery charges |

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer A St Catherine man who allegedly tried to bribe members of the Island Special Constabulary Force is now facing bribery charges. He is Sheldon Brown, 30-year-old labourer of Time and Patience district in St Catherine. Reports are that, about 3:30 p.m., police personnel were yesterday doing traffic reinforcement duties in Linstead, St Catherine. A vehicle allegedly being driven by Brown was stopped and checked. While the vehicle was being checked, he allegedly handed an envelope with $1,650 to a member of the team. He reportedly said, "Tek dis and don't seize the car." He was subsequently arrested and charged by Special Constable Marco Moncrieffe. He is booked to appear in court later this week. |
