Missing cables cause of voltage problems |
|||||
![]() The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) says theft of its electrical cables was the cause of Thursday's voltage problems which affected the National Water Commission's (NWC) pumps at Tredegar Park. On Thursday, the NWC advised that frequent fluctuations in the power supply to the Tulloch Springs/Rio Cobre Water Supply System affected service to customers in Kingston, St Andrew and St Catherine. A statement from JPS says personnel discovered that wire measuring 1,000 ft was removed in the vicinity of Content District in the Tredegar Park community. However, the company says it has since completed the replacement of the missing wires, returning power to NWC in the affected area.
