Craig 'Missa West' West making strides in music career

Blessed with good vocal skills and discipline, Portmore-based entertainer Craig 'Missa West' West has declared that this is his year, musically.

The Warieka Hill, Kingston-born West, who works with the Jamaica Fire Brigade, said so far, he is getting the right signals.

"I will be heading to Canada in May where I will be performing at NV Nightclub and other places alongside Munga Honorebel, and it is a great feeling," West revealed.

He said that he has recorded songs such as Heartless, Weak Spot, Crosses, and It Nuh Fair, for which a video has been shot.

The Portmore-based entertainer, who records out of the CR3 studio in Edgewater in the municipality, said music was something he had always wanted to do.

He said that his association with Munga has been a long-standing one as he, like the Bad From Mi Born singer, was raised in Islington, St Mary. "We went to the same primary school, and I have been inspired by both him and Capleton," West told THE PORTMORE STAR. "I am young in the recording industry, but even while going to school, I was always performing at festivals, and I always knew I would be recording."

He told The Portmore Star that his early exposure to the performing arts has helped him to reach where he is. "I only record reality songs, which are inspired by life experiences," he said.

With a focus on writing and recording positively, Missa West said he is determined to be an integral part of the music industry.
