Opener Xavier Marshall has found himself out of favour with the Jamaica selectors once again.

The 27-year-old, who has been in and out of various national squads in recent years, has been dropped from the Super50 squad for the semi-final clash against the Windward Islands in Barbados on Friday.

Marshall, who was dropped from the four-day squad three weeks ago, was then drafted into the Super50 squad but failed to score against Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana. Earlier he made six and zero against Barbados in the opening match of the four-day season.

His first-class average stands at 23.67 from 34 games and his 50-overs average, 22.77 from 52 matches.

"Marshall has not done any justice to his selection in any of the appearances he has made this season, and so we had to make a decision," said chairman of selectors, Courtnay Daley.

"It's a bit disappointing as we were hoping that he would have come good this season. But it is not like we have stopped looking at him. He has to just go back, work on his game, and hopefully if and when given the opportunity again he will make good use of it," he added.

Marshall's place in the squad has been taken by experienced opener Brenton Parchment who recently made a Man-of-the-Match return to the four-day squad.

Parchment who missed the first half of the season due to playing in Australia, scored 75 and 25 against Trinidad before falling for one and 19 against Guyana.

The 13-man squad which is slated to depart the country today will also include seamer Krishmar Santokie.

The left-armer missed the Guyana clash but makes a return at the expense of young opener Zeniffe Fowler who is yet to play despite being in and out of the two squads since the start of the season.

"We have not stopped looking at Fowler. It is just a matter of the players we have at the present time," said Daley.

"I am sure if he continues working his time will come," he added.

Ja Super50 squad: Tamar Lambert (captain), Carlton Baugh Jr (wicket-keeper), David Bernard Jr, Jermaine Blackwood, Nkrumah Bonner, Odean Brown, Sheldon Cotterell

Danza Hyatt, Andre McCarthy, Nikita Miller, Brenton Parchment, Andrew Richardson, Krishmar Santokie. Coach: Junior Bennett.
