Man fined for ganja |

Launtia Cuff, STAR Writer A man who was found in possession of 13lb or 5.9 kilograms of ganja was fined $55,000 in the Black River Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. David Anderson, who is from a St Elizabeth address, was charged with possession of and dealing in ganja after the drug was found at his home following a raid by the police on Saturday. On April 13, the police conducted a raid at Anderson's home. During the search, a white bag was found with substance resembling ganja. Anderson pleaded guilty to illegal possession and dealing in ganja when he appeared before Resident Magistrate Sonia Wint- Blair. He was fined a total of $55,600 on both charges or face 30 days' imprisonment. |
