Waterhouse kept their 2012-2013 Red Stripe Premier League title ambitions alive, and in the process put a major dent in Portmore United's hopes of retaining the crown after getting the better of them 3-0 in their 34th round meeting yesterday, at the Waterhouse Stadium.

Waterhouse, coming off two consecutive defeats, got back to winning ways on the back of a brace from Hughan Gray (50th and 54th) with the league's leading scorer, Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson netting the game's third, and his 19th of the season, in the 88th minute.

Portmore were reduced to 10 players in the 56th minute when Ryan Wellington was ejected.

The win has moved Waterhouse to second on 56 points, six adrift of leaders Harbour View (62). Portmore (53) fell two places down the 12-team standing to fourth.

Boys' Town and Arnett Gardens played out a 1-1 draw in their derby encounter at Collie Smith Drive, as both missed out on the opportunity to make inroads into the lead of the inactive Harbour View.

Nicholas McMorris had put Boys' Town in front from the penalty spot in the 19th minute, but Leon Strickland pulled Arnett level in the 34th minute.

The draw, which was Boys' Town's third consecutive, has left them in third position on 54 points, while Arnett are fifth with 52.

Harbour View will be seeking their first victory in seven games when they host sixth-place Tivoli Gardens (48) at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium tonight at 9:15.

In the lower six, Cavalier confirmed their place in the top flight for next season after registering their first win in four attempts over Sporting Central this season, clipping them 1-0 at Brancourt.

Donovan Alveranga scored the game's lone goal in the 28th minute to lift his team to seventh on 45 points, while Sporting Central, who

were suffering their first defeat in four outings, fell one place to eighth on 43 points.

Tenth-place Humble Lion (40) also took a huge stride towards safety after seeing off the challenge of Highgate United 1-0 at the Effortville Community Centre.

Sean Coleman's 16th minute goal afforded Humble Lion some daylight between themselves and Highgate (32) who occupy 11th, and are poised to be relegated along with Savannah.

Montego Bay United, who sit atop the bottom six pile, progressed to 50 points after beating the already relegated Savannah 4-1 at the Frome Sports Complex.

Montego Bay's goals were netted by Mauricio Gordon (25th), Leon Irving (55th and 72nd) and Jermaine Woozencraft (66th) with 12th-place Savannah's consolation coming courtesy of Nicodie Haughton (82nd).
