Eighteen months' imprisonment was given to two men who robbed a woman of her laptop and earphones, when they appeared before the Corpo-rate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Charged with simple larceny is 19-year-old Quavon Whyte and charged with receiving the laptop is 28-year-old Marlon Smith. Both men pleaded guilty to their charges.

There was also a conspiracy charge but that was later admonished and discharged by the courts after the co-accused both entered not guilty pleas.

The court was told that on the day in question, the complainant was walking along King Street when both accused were spotted.

Reports are that Whyte held up the complainant and took the equipment from her.

The men were later held by the police and the laptop handed over to the complainant.

Whyte sought to have the complainant arrested by shouting in court, "Your Honour, after she get back her things, and di officer dem put mi fi kneel down, she kick me two time ina mi head ... that not right she suppose to get lock up fi dat!"

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey responded by saying, "That is not the matter before me."
