Charly Black celebrates birthday in style

The less-than-expected turnout never stopped Charly Black and some of his loyal supporters from experiencing a partying bliss last Saturday when the deejay celebrated yet another milestone on earth at Lighthouse Salem in Runaway Bay, St Ann.

Fresh from his month-long European tour, Charly Black seemed determined to make the most of his black-and-white theme party with fantastic musical selections from the likes of Boom Boom, DJ Ashile, DJ Tropical and Crawba Genius, Hypnotise Sound, Renaissance, Trooper Tralooper, DJ Carson and ZJ Diamond.

If you were on the outside listening, you'd be of the belief that inside the venue was jam-packed given the loud uproars which echoed beyond its fencing at regular intervals.

However, the real excitement began with the introduction of Boom Boom, whose energy was transmitted to an audience who fed, uncontrollably, off his musical selections.

At one point, a female from the promo group Stars R Us, sprung up on the stage and onto the Gully-affiliated selector while Aidonia's Tip Pon Yuh Toe was being played. The scene was frantic but much to the delight of the crowd.

DJ Tropical and Crawba Genius proved a successful pair. They found favour with song selections such as Vybz Kartel's Dumper Truck, Mavado's Sweetest Time and RDX's Kotch.

DJ Ashile, along with the others who played, was equally impressive. But still, Charly Black had a blast and he thanked everyone who made it to his party.

"I appreciate everyone who came here tonight. I am so blessed to have you guys as loyal family, fans and friends," he said.
