Comedian and radio personality Christopher 'Johnny' Daley was recently released from the Cliff Hughes-owned Nationwide News Network.

Daley, who was the host of the popular afternoon entertainment programme Di Endz, had his contract terminated after working at the radio station for some four years.

Daley told THE STAR he was already engaged in discussions with two other radio stations to work as a talk-show host and should be back on air by May.

According to Daley: "I have no idea why my show was cancelled. It wasn't really explained to me, but my contract said the station has the right to cancel my show at any time and they chose to end it. As far as I knew my show was a very positive show."

THE STAR was reliably informed that Di Endz was cut from Nationwide Radio because of financial problems, but Hughes was reticent when contacted on the matter.

"First of all, I don't know you sir. I really don't know you. With the greatest of respect, I don't know you or your name," he told THE STAR reporter.

"I would like you to speak with Mr Daley because that is not in accordance with my knowledge. I have to establish the veracity with what you are saying."

Despite the abrupt end to his show, Daley is still in high spirits.

"I'm feeling positive and grateful to have spent four years at the station and to host my own show, and to hone my skills on radio. Thanks to that experience, I can now say I am a bonafide radio talk-show host," a very optimistic-sounding Daley declared.

He quickly added that, "there are no hard feelings and I will always remain positive. I earn from many different ventures."
