Woman pleads guilty to fraud |

|
Lorraine Brown, 43, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud and making false declaration when she appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. The matter which has been in the courts since 2003, states that Brown who was 33 at the time, gave her son's birth certificate to her sister, so that the sister could use the document in an attempt to take her child overseas. Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey fined Brown $40,000 for the false declaration offence, and $50,000 for the conspiracy to defraud.
