RAPE ACCUSED REPORTS 'VICTIMS' TO COPS

Diandra Grandison, Star Writer

Men beware! 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' women are targeting unsuspecting men in crowded areas and accusing them of rape.

THE STAR received reports last week that there is an alleged 'rape scam' occurring in the Half-Way Tree area.

A man who goes by the moniker 'Tony' told THE STAR how he almost became a victim of the scam.

Tony said a couple weeks ago he was in the Half-Way Tree area heading to work, when at around 7 a.m. he was approached by what he refers to as a 'drop dead gorgeous' woman who claimed that she wanted to get to know him.

"On my way to work I met this woman who said she was interested in me, and wanted to get to know me better, she asked me my name, where I live, where I work just my personal information," he said.

He continued, "While speaking to her, I gave her the info, I'm going to be honest, she was looking damn good and is not every day a woman like that approaches a man so you're flattered."

He described the woman as being 'dark complexioned, short, thick, very attractive and good-looking.'

Tony went on to tell THE STAR how shortly after speaking with the attractive woman, he was approached by two women who pointed him out in Half-Way Tree for an alleged rape.

"I was crossing the street from Transport Centre to Jamaica National when two women who I've never seen before in my life come up to me and the younger one said, 'See him deh! See him deh! A him rape me!"

Tony said to his horror, the older woman who he described as having locks and appearing to be in her 50s also pointed him out saying that she saw when he attacked and assaulted her niece.

Tony told THE STAR "The both of them started accusing me of raping the niece, and they were very convincing, the niece even went on her phone saying she's speaking to her other sister called Carol saying they found the man who raped her."

He also told THE STAR that he was in shock when he heard the niece began to echo the same information he gave the gorgeous woman a few minutes ago.

Tony told THE STAR, however, that he became suspicious when the 'aunt' suggested that he pay them off in an effort to settle the alleged rape.

"The aunt said 'If yuh know what's good for you, yuh settle it financially.'"

He continued, "I know I am not a rapist, so I said come let's go to the police station then and settle the matter."

Tony said that it was after stating that he'll be going to the police that the crowd that had gathered dispersed and the women vanished.

A representative from the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) told THE STAR that they did receive a report about the incident and are currently investigating the matter.

Tony told THE STAR that he has heard of other cases and is warning men to be wary of these women.
