Surrendered to the Lord |

![]() Evangelist Bevan Robinson - George Henry GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer Evangelist Bevan Robinson surrendered his life to the Lord 18 years ago while he was a teenager at the Sanguinetti New Testament Church of God in Clarendon. He is currently a member of the New Life Fellowship Centre in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States of America (USA). He is serving as president of the Men's fellowship at that church and has been serving in that post for just over one year. "I love the Lord with all my heart. That does not say that I do not make mistakes. I make a lot of mistakes, but I have learnt that it is just the grace of God that is keeping me. However, that does not give me the licence to do the things that are wrong. I love to teach about the love of the Lord Jesus Christ and to unveil the truth which is hidden in the Old Testament," testified Evangelist Robinson. Robinson said he loves the Lord because He is the author and finisher of his life. He stressed that at times there might be persons who one thinks would have been there for them, but in the long run they let them down, thus they are left to rely on the Lord for help. This, he stated, has encouraged him to his trust in God. Extremely good "And not just that, but He has opened many doors for me where money could not. God has been extremely good to me. When I was a small kid, I grew up really rough. This lady took me, raised me, and she went away and left me with somebody else. It was like she just gave me to someone else; and things that I never used to do at her house I started to do," explained Robinson. He pointed out that he had to weed banana field and carried out other difficult tasks before the Lord opened up another door for him in Kingston and then in the US. Though it was not easy for him when he migrated to the US, Robinson shared that whatever he placed his hands on; God transformed it into 'gold'. "Whatever I laid my hands on God transformed them into gold. For example, when I just got to the United States I was selling roast yam on the street side. I still had my skill as a florist, but I was not really spending much time with God. I drifted away from Him. But I prayed and said to the Lord, 'you know I have a skill and I am in the United States and if you could open the door for me so that I can use my skill to advance here'. He opened the door for me almost instantaneously and the rest is history," said the evangelist. Robinson, who added that he depends on God totally, said that if he is studying God's word, He (God) also opens the door so that calls from customers just keep coming for him to supply them with flowers. He stated that if he puts the Word of God aside and gets caught up in other things, he starts to struggle to make ends meet. "Once I submit to God, doors just keep opening up for me. It is like this, keep your eyes on Him and He will take care of everything that is behind you. So I say that once I have my eyes on Him, whatsoever I touch He transforms into gold," explained Robinson. He believes that when God raises up a worker no one should ever try to steady such a one, because serious things can happen. Robinson is suggesting that when God raises one up to do His work they should allow the presence of the Lord to work in the person's life. Robinson pointed out that his life as a Christian can be very challenging, but he relies on the Lord for strength. He, like many Christians, is aware that challenges will come the way of the people of God, and he is suggesting that those persons who really love the Lord need only to hang in there for God because their change will surely come. His favourite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 5:21. His favourite song is 'At the Cross, At the Cross where I first saw the Light'. Feedback: pehenrya@hotmail.com
