Award-winning entertainer Ruth-Ann Brown was always an artiste at heart. Therefore, it was predestined for her to leave the classroom and end up in the recording studio.

Brown, a graduate of Northern Caribbean University where she majored in English literature, said music was a calling.

She now looks back with admiration on her achievements.

"I have recorded more than 20 songs so far and have won enviable achievement. So, I continue to be inspired, " Brown said.

To date, Brown has recorded songs such as Jam dung, I Love You, Unfamiliar Feeling (sound track on Air France) and her latest song Any Day Now.

Her manager said he finds pleasure in working with the artiste. "I found this talented lady easy to work with. Her artistic talents, like her great voice and her humility, make her an instant hit," Rhoan 'Ric Zheron' Bromfield said.

Bromfield, who is from Edgewater in Portmore, said a number of songs are being worked on.

For her effort, Brown has won the 2012 Best Female Reggae Artiste and Best Reggae Recording in Washington, DC.

The artiste who is in the US has performed on Jamaica 50th in New York. Brown holds the distinction of being the first Jamaican artiste to appear at the Strathmore Mansion in Maryland.

The Bran-Nu Entertainment recording artiste says she will continue making positive music.
