Dear Pastor,
How are you doing? I read your column as much as I can. It surely helps my working days go by pretty fast. It is very informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work. However, I read a letter someone wrote to you (maybe a month or so ago) in regards to "My Illegitimate Sister." My mouth was wide open while reading. All I could say was, "wow." I can't believe that people are so ignorant in today's society to really think that kind of way. It is 2013 and we are no longer in slavery. And who gave such individual the power to be putting down a family member like that? I am pretty sure this young lady didn't ask to be born and she didn't make the choice as to what family she would be a part of. Her father made a bad decision so they should all get over it. She should forgive her father and accept her sister. What if in the future she becomes the hand that feeds them all? Then what? I don't mean to be rude but man I was rather disturbed to see adults thinking like that. They should grow up and get off their high horses because I don't know who gave them all positions to judge and to cast out a next person. No man is an island. People need people irrespective of how or where they were conceived. Keep up the great work, Pastor. Disturbed Reader Dear Disturbed Reader, I hope the day will come when all children in this family will embrace each other as one and come to realise that none is better than the other. The sister who is being slighted should not in any way consider herself as an outcast because she has done nothing wrong. I thank you for your comments. Pastor |
