Two held in connection with illegal firearm |

The police have arrested two people in connection with the seizure of two firearms, and 27 rounds of ammunition on Suthermere Avenue, Kingston 10, and at a house in Greater Portmore, St Catherine, yesterday. The names of those detained are being withheld pending further investigations. Police reports are that about 6:25 a.m., while carrying out a spot check in the Half-Way Tree area, the driver of a Honda Fit motor vehicle was signalled to stop. The driver complied and he and a female passenger were both searched, resulting in the seizure of a 9mm Browning pistol with 14 rounds of ammunition. A warrant was garnered and further checks of the female's home in Greater Portmore led to the seizure of a another firearm, an Intratec sub-machine gun with a magazine containing 13 rounds. |
