Captain of Jamaica College's track and field team, Kyle Robinson, is hoping that they can relive the great emotions of winning the boys title, two years after lifting the Mortimer Geddes trophy - the sign of ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Championships supremacy.

"Well our expectation is as great as any other team's, as we have the quality athletes to do it. If the guys perform as how we expect them to, we can challenge," Robinson told The Star during his team's training session last Wednesday at the Stadium East track.

"In 2011, we won Champs, so we would love to relive those feelings this year, It's my last year in school, so it would be fitting if we win the championships. That feeling was so sweet that I want to do it again," he added.

"Being the captain of the team it's my job to motivate the guys for the challenge ahead. We will do our best and see if our best is good enough to win," Robinson said.

He will have a tough task in the 400m hurdles event as he is expected to battle against top schoolboy hurdler Omar McLeod, who has opted to enter Kingston College sixth form from Manchester.

"Well, personally my goal is to make the final then see if I can win a medal in the 400m hurdles event. All my competitors are seen as threats. I will just go out there and do my best, however, Omar McLeod of KC is the favourite in the event," Robinson disclosed.

Jamaica College finished third at last year's championships with 221 points.
