Woman's attacker remanded

A man who allegedly trailed and attacked a woman as she walked in her community was remanded for psychiatric evaluation when he appeared in court on Monday.

Michael Wilmot, of a Kingston adress,s is charged with wounding with intent. He appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday to answer to the charge.

The court was told that on February 13 at 9:55 p.m. Wilmot allegedly trailed and attacked the complainant while she walked in the Kingston 17 area.

It was reported that the accused threw the complainant to the ground and stabbed her multiple times in the upper body and banged her head on the roadside multiple times.

It was also reported that while the accused assaulted the complainant he said "Is kill I gwine kill yuh."

Residents reportedly rescued the complainant and took her to the Kingston Public Hospital for treatment.

She received six stab wounds and spent five days in hospital.

Wilmot was denied bail and a fingerprint order was requested. He is to return to court on March 18, when the matter will be mentioned.
