Men need an outlet too!

To God be the glory, great things He has done! Mi hope everybody alrite or at least a try cope in these very trying circumstances.

Nuff love to di whole a New York an di Tri-state wah lock in to mi show pon Link Up Radio! Mawning Link wid Miss Kitty from 6 to 10 a.m. tun up loud and mi appreci-love di endorsement!

Yesideh mi pass one mad man pon di road an mi jus' haffi lift mi hands to Jesus seh mi no deh deh so, because when yuh think how life rough and hard and all a di bangarang dem weh a tek people nowadays, the line between mad an sane is very thin!

All sometimes di people dem who we look pon as having it all or have everyting, dem have more problem than wah John read bout pon di Isle of Patmus! One time people used to jus' pray a morning time and night time, now we haffi a pray straight through the day! Whether yuh a bathe, wash some clothes or jus' stand up a di bus stop, yuh jus haffi a pray and beg God fi him coverage and protection.

The story weh di man kill him two baby dem den hang himself touch mi soul til' mi couldn't even talk bout it, because every time mi tink bout it mi buss out inna tears. When mi tink bout the soldier man who allegedly shot his wife and kill him mother-in-law and so many other instances of evil weh we don't even know 'bout, mi only haffi seh di Devil a walk among us an is like a rolling stone!

the pressures of life

What on God's green earth coulda possess a person to harm his children or his loved ones in such a way. I've read accounts where people who know di man can't understand it either. Is like him snap. And a lot of people seem to be snapping of late, because dem cannot handle the pressures of life. Part of the big problem, too, is that people have few outlets where they can talk, get counselling whether formal or informal, and I think we have nurtured a culture that says that real man musn't talk bout dem feelings, dem fi hold it.

Holding it is all well an good til' the man either implode or explode. This is sad and we need fi stop it. From di boy pickney dem a grow they are not encouraged to embrace their emotion. If a likkle boy drop and a cry, di mothers tend fi seh "get up and stop di crying, yuh is a gal? Real man no bawl". Those are the sentiments that are echoed over the years which become a part of a man's character.

Women, too, tend to bash men who talk bout dem feelings a lot an all style dem as "maama man". Well mi woulda prefer a "maama man" than a killer-suicidal man any day! Because nuff man a hold and one day when di cup full it haffi run ova, and most time when it reach dat point a so-so devastation and grief.

Men haffi have a outlet to speak, express and communicate what problems they may be having before it gets critical. Dem same man friend dem will laugh afta dem if dem a express dem hurt, especially if a him woman gi him bun and him a talk bout it. In an effort not to be judged and ridiculed, they bottle it up inside and explode.

When everybody tink a peace and safety, a sudden destruction. Just like inna Vegas case, mi tek mi ears and hear both man an woman bash him bad. I'm not saying that he went about it the right way, but him know wah him did a feel why him haffi choose dah route deh, and, to me, is still a better option than the one wah claim Captain Barkey life.

We no inna dis world fi live fi weself and of course mi naah seh go tek on everybody problem, cause every tub haffi stand up pon it owna bottom, but if we see smaddy close to the edge, mek we try a draw dem in back and not just turn a blind eye, because if we do dat, the day we might deh pon di edge, there will be no one around to save us.
