Still burning for old flame |

![]() Dear Pastor, I am a 21-year-old woman seeking your advice. On February 15, 2012, I was downtown, Kingston, trying to get a bus to St Thomas after experiencing an awful heartbreak. I saw one of my old classmates, he stopped and said hi. I looked behind me because I wasn't sure if he was talking to me. After we both left primary school, we weren't that close again. He introduced me to one of his co-workers, is a correctional officer. He asked me for my BlackBerry pin and I gave it to him. We talked and texted numerous times. I told him about my life, my experiences and he did the same. One day he told me he wanted to get the chance to know me better, so I told him to come to St Thomas. He came the following day. We talked, laughed and had fun. The relationship was going great until he started complaining that he is the only one putting out effort to see me, which was true. I always find excuses, such as, "I don't have any fare," because I wasn't over that terrible heartbreak. Recently, every time we ping or call each other, we have an argument, and I always tell him it is over. I decided to move on and he did the same. The thing is that I am now involved with a policeman. He loves and appreciates me very much, but every time I see my ex-boyfriend a strong feeling keeps coming back. The correctional officer is now a player. He is scared to settle down after his horrible experience with women. T. Dear T., If you know this correctional officer is a player, why you are allowing this strong feeling to come over you? The man has moved on and you have moved on. Let it remain that way. If you genuinely love the policeman, stick with him. Pastor
