Motorcycle thief remanded

A man who told the court that he was guilty of stealing a motorcycle after it was involved in an accident was remanded in custody when he appeared in court yesterday.

Andre Golding of Shelter Rock, Spanish Town, St Catherine, pleaded guilty to the charge of receiving stolen property when the matter came up in the Spanish Town Resident Magis-trate's Court. He was ordered remanded, and is to be sentenced on March 21.

The allegations are that in November last year, the complainant was driving his Honda Trail motorcycle along the Greendale main road.

hit off bike

Upon reaching near Phil's Hardware in St Catherine, he was hit off the bike by a motor car. The injured driver was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital. During this time the bike went missing from the scene.

A report was made and an investigation was launched. Two days later, a search was conducted in the Shelter Rock community.

During the search, the bike was found in Golding's possession.

He was charged by Detective Constable Damion Haye of the Spanish Town Police Station.
